United's busiest domestic route out of SFO is to surprise city. And LAx Discount airline straight to Greece

United’s 10 busiest domestic SFO routes. Topping the list was SFO-Denver, where United had scheduled 302 flights each way during January. SFO-Newark ranked second, with 285 flights, followed, in order, by SFO-Los Angeles (281), SFO-Chicago O’Hare (254), SFO-Houston (238), SFO-Las Vegas (201), SFO-Washington Dulles (187), SFO-San Diego (184), SFO-Burbank (175) and SFO-Seattle (160). 


The European discount carrier Norse Atlantic Airways just announced a new West Coast route for the summer: nonstop seasonal service from Los Angeles International to Athens. Norse plans to operate four 787 flights a week from June 3 through Sept. 27 and said it will offer one-way fares starting at $269. LAX has never had nonstop service to Greece before, and this 13.5-hour flight will be Norse Atlantic’s longest U.S.-to-Europe route. There is no nonstop service from San Francisco to Athens.
