On August 6, United Airlines grounded its entire mainline fleet due to a system-wide technology failure. The issue disrupted flights across the board, Boeing 737s, 787s, Airbuses with passengers stuck on tarmacs, gates closed, and no clear ETAs. United later resolved the problem and said residual delays would continue while operations recovered.
While tech hiccups happen, grounding all mainline flights is next-level. One passenger in Denver said they were trapped on a hot plane with no updates or option to deboard. This isn’t the first tech-related mess we’ve seen this year either. Have you ever been caught in one of these situations? Curious how United handled it for you.
