Made Platinum in 2024 mostly off four Polaris EWR to LHR runs for work.
2025 was lighter. Two paid Polaris trips, some domestic, and a big mileage redemption for a family Europe trip. Ended up about 4k PQP short of requalifying.
United extended my Platinum anyway, which I appreciated.
Now I just got an email saying they’re doubling my starting PQP bonus to 1,800.
Not complaining at all. Just curious what the play is here. Feels like a pretty targeted nudge to get me spending back at Platinum levels again, especially since I’ve got one LHR trip already booked for 2026.
Anyone else get this bump? Is this a broad thing or more of a “we want your Polaris dollars back” situation?
