Saw this and had flashbacks to the old United breaks guitars saga. Someone had a travel guitar completely shredded and United is saying they’ll cover the custom bag it was in, but not the guitar itself. Claiming it’s “policy” but apparently can’t even point to where that policy actually lives.
How does that make any sense? You accept the item, you destroy it, but only the container counts? Feels like a classic airline move where responsibility magically stops at the zipper.
