Flew ATL–EWR the other day on UA2247. I’m 1K, wife was on a linked res with me. She was in 7A bulkhead, I had 8D. We checked in early, printed passes, all good.
At the gate? Boom her seat gets switched to 15A. No ping, no email, nothing. Gate agent says it was to accommodate another passenger and told me 7A and 15A were “the same.” Not even close. 7A is bulkhead E+, 15A doesn’t even recline. Meanwhile, my old seat 8D went to someone on standby and I got upgraded.
Honestly just feels like United doesn’t value loyalty anymore. Ten years as 1K and my companion still gets shoved around like this.
