I was forced to check my carry-on at EWR due to a maintenance issue that delayed departure by about 1.5 hours. United managed to hold my connecting flight to MSO, but my checked bag did not make it onto the connection.
Since I knew I would be leaving MSO before the bag arrived, I submitted a request during taxi-out to have it forwarded directly to my home.
The bag later ended up in MSO, and baggage services contacted me to confirm I was not there and to reroute it to my home address.
However, the bag has now somehow been sent back on a second trip to MSO after initially arriving in EWR this morning, which is frustrating.
