Cool to see a small flag carrier growing instead of merging for once. Uganda Airlines is now flying nonstop from Entebbe to London-Gatwick with their A330-800neo—only a handful of those around, and they’ve got it in a nice 3-cabin layout. Flights are 4x weekly, and while Heathrow was the original goal, Gatwick probably makes more sense right now given the slot mess.
Feels like the start of something bigger for them. There’s talk of expanding the fleet with A320neo/A321neo to fill the gap between their regional CRJs and the long-haul A330. Routes like Guangzhou are being floated. Always rooting for carriers that bring a sense of place onboard—Ethiopian, EVA, Finnair—and hoping Uganda Airlines builds that same kind of vibe
