I honestly can’t understand why the government decided to reopen DXB during an active conflict. It feels extremely risky and reckless.
There are reports of interceptions happening near aircraft, and all it would take is one mistake for thousands of people to die instantly. That kind of risk around a busy international airport just seems unbelievable.
It really feels like the government is desperate to protect Dubai’s reputation and image, even if that means putting people’s lives at risk.
For context, I live in Canada, which is pretty safe and far from the conflict. But my mom is currently stuck in Dubai, so I’ve been following the situation closely. What bothers me most is feeling like I can’t fully trust what the UAE government is saying if they’re willing to reopen the airport under these conditions.
