My wife and I were traveling from Portland to Hawaii with a connection in Seattle. We had booked and paid for first class seats nearly five months in advance and had already completed the first segment of the trip in first class.
While waiting at the gate in Seattle for our flight to Hawaii, we were unexpectedly called to the desk and informed that our first class seats were no longer available. We were then reassigned to economy seats for a flight lasting more than six hours.
The situation was a complete surprise and understandably frustrating, especially after planning the trip months in advance and specifically paying for a premium cabin experience. It is disappointing to have our vacation begin with an issue like this after looking forward to the flight for so long.
