On DL0885 into ATL today and it was wild.
We tried landing twice. Wheels down, super close to the runway, then full power back up both times. The turbulence was unreal. Felt like we were a kite getting tossed around.
Eventually we were low on fuel and diverted to Tennessee. A few people got off since their final was Chattanooga, and then a bunch more deplaned too. To top it off, the Delta computer systems were down.
Huge shout out to the flight attendants. Multiple people got sick, they were handing out ginger ale and snacks, helping everyone with rebooking questions, and stayed calm the whole time.
One of those days you’re just grateful for a safe landing somewhere.
