Turkish Airlines lost / delayed luggage for 10+ days, no one knows where it is

PLEASE HELP. Due to overbooking, my checked luggage did not arrive with me at my final destination.

Route was:

NQZ → IST → Rome → Milan Malpensa

I filed a PIR immediately, but it has now been 10 days and Turkish Airlines still has no confirmed information on where my suitcase is.

What makes this even more confusing:

I received a message from Milan Airport saying my suitcase had arrived and to wait for delivery

Both Rome and Milan airports now say they never received it

Last known scan shows the bag in Istanbul

Turkish Airlines’ tracking system can no longer locate the bag at all

Lost & Found at IST, Rome, and Milan all say they don’t have it

So at this point, we don’t even know:

which country it’s in

which airport (if any)

whether it was ever put on a flight after IST

Turkish Airlines is essentially saying “we have no idea where your luggage is.”

Questions:

Are there central storage facilities where untagged or damaged-tag bags end up?

If the baggage tag was damaged, how are these bags normally identified or matched?

Is there any department beyond standard baggage tracing that handles cases like this?

Has anyone had a situation where tracking completely disappeared like this and how was it resolved?

We have another flight in 4 days and urgently need the contents of this suitcase.

Any insight, contacts, escalation paths, or similar experiences would be hugely appreciated.
