Flew Turkish Airlines and my window seat had a huge gap between the seat and the wall. My phone slipped into it and got completely stuck. Not dropped under the seat. Not forgotten. Physically wedged into the cabin.
It then sat there for a full week while Turkish kept telling me they couldn’t find it. I had to keep chasing them over and over. What finally got action was pointing out to their social media team that there was a lithium ion battery just sitting inside their aircraft wall.
They eventually retrieved the phone, but now they expect me to fly back to Istanbul to pick it up. They keep insisting I “left” my phone, which is just not true. Their seat design caused this.
To make it worse, they want documents prepared in Turkish and say I need to send someone else to collect it in person. I don’t speak Turkish. They refuse to ship the phone or take any responsibility at all.
I’m completely exhausted dealing with this and honestly shocked at how bad the customer service has been. Has anyone else dealt with something like this with Turkish?
