Tunis for Digital nomads - cheap and kind, but rough for daily work

Did 10 days working in Tunis. Glad I went, but I wouldn’t base there long term.

Main snags: trash all over, early-morning stray dogs, patchy Wi-Fi (5G eSIM was better), spread-out city so you’ll lean on taxis, and lots of fast-food style spots instead of easy sit-down options.

Good bits: welcoming people, very low prices, pleasant pockets around Carthage. If you go, pick La Marsa or Sidi Bou Said with tempered expectations, get a local eSIM, and choose a place not right next to a mosque.
