TSA closed at JFK Terminal 7… where should we go for security?

First time flying out of JFK Terminal 7 and a bit confused by what I’m seeing online.

Our plan is to fly into Newark (EWR), take an Uber to JFK, and then depart internationally from Terminal 7. We usually use LaGuardia, so both of these airports are new to us.

When checking wait times lately, it looks like TSA at Terminal 7 has sometimes been closed. Google also suggests you normally have to go through security at the terminal where your flight departs.

If Terminal 7 TSA is closed when we arrive, what’s the best approach?

Should we get dropped off at another terminal with open security and then move to Terminal 7 airside?

We do have TSA PreCheck and CLEAR+, if that changes anything.
