Trying to sit in on a Zoom (silently) on a United flight… realistic or not?

I’ve got a rough situation. Flying cross-country on United for my mom’s funeral, but the timing overlaps with a PhD defense I really need to attend.

I’m not planning to talk at all, just listen in with headphones and keep my phone tucked away. Basically just a silent observer.

I know WiFi can be hit or miss, especially on a 737 MAX 8, so I’m not expecting perfection. Just wondering if this is even realistically doable or if it’s likely to drop out constantly.

Appreciate any real experiences with this.
