Trump threatening to invade Mexico cartels… what travel insurance would actually cover that?

We’re heading to the Cancun area in about 3 weeks and today’s headlines about Trump threatening to invade Mexico to go after cartels have me a little uneasy.

Let’s say worst case scenario something actually happens and flights get disrupted or things shut down. What kind of travel insurance would realistically cover this? I’m thinking things like being able to cancel, help rebooking flights home, or covering extra hotel and food costs if we get stuck longer than planned.

I’m not looking for resort recommendations, just trying to understand what type of insurance or specific coverage would apply in a situation like that, if any. Is this cancel for any reason territory, or would standard trip interruption insurance cover something political like this?

Would love to hear from anyone who actually understands how these policies work in real life.
