I recently returned from a two-week trip to Europe visiting Copenhagen, Prague, and Berlin, and flew SAS on the LAX–CPH route in both directions.
On the outbound flight, the aircraft was very full across all cabin classes. I successfully won a bid upgrade from Economy Light to Business Light. Before the flight, I visited the Air France lounge, which I found to have excellent food, even better than the Centurion Lounge, including live cooking stations.
The SAS crew on the outbound flight were professional but fairly standard in service.
On the return from CPH–LAX, I again won an upgrade as one of the highest bidders. I used the SAS lounge before departure, though it was somewhat inconveniently located after passport control and I only had about 30 minutes there. The lounge itself was average, with mostly vegetarian options, but the draft Carlsberg beer stood out.
On this leg, the cabin crew service was noticeably better and more engaging, going above expectations.
Overall, both flights were full, operations were punctual, and I had a positive impression of SAS. I would fly them again and consider earning miles with their EuroBonus program.
