Couldn’t even log in on a computer for over 30 minutes. When I finally got in, I tried to select Extra Comfort seats (I’m Atmos Gold), but the system errored out and logged me out again. After getting back in, the system showed me as already checked in and completely locked out of seat changes even though I never approved the check-in in the first place.
Called customer service, spent about 3 hours and spoke to 4 different agents. All gave the same answer: since I’m “already checked in,” the only option is to go to the airport to change seats. Before the merger, I’m 100% sure seat changes were still possible after check-in.
Not blaming the agents they were limited by the system but the old Hawaiian approach of “we’ll find a way to fix it” feels gone. Tech-wise, Hawaiian used to be imperfect but workable, Alaska was solid. Now the combined system feels completely broken. It really feels like Alaska flyers are benefiting while Hawaiian flyers are stuck beta-testing a half-baked system.
