Planning a Rome trip May 26–30 and trying to figure out the best way to see the Trevi Fountain with the new rules.
From what I understand, you now need a ticket with a timed entry to access the lower area close to the fountain, similar to how other major sites in Rome work.
Originally we were thinking of going really late at night, like 1–2am, to avoid the crowds. But with the new barriers and controlled access I’m not sure if that’s still the best approach or if you’re too far away to really enjoy it.
Maybe the timed entry during the day actually makes it easier to see now since the crowd is controlled?
Has anyone visited since the changes were introduced? Curious what the experience is like and what the best strategy is now.
