I booked a car rental with Thrifty at Chicago O’Hare International Airport for July and now I am worried the price might be too good to be true.
The reservation is for 4 days with a compact or economy car and the total came to about 450 dollars in my confirmation email, including under 25 driver fees. The booking also mentions coverage such as liability protection and car protection.
What is confusing is that if I try to rebook the same rental now, the price is 2 to 3 times higher. Also, when I open the booking through the email link, the total sometimes shows around 312 dollars, but I suspect that version may not include taxes, airport fees, or young driver charges.
I am trying to understand whether I genuinely got a good deal by booking early or if I should expect additional charges when I pick up the car at the counter.
I am also not familiar with US rental car pricing, so I am unsure what is normal in this situation.
