My mother has a single itinerary that includes multiple flights booked together:
Melbourne to Bangkok on Jetstar
Bangkok to Istanbul on Turkish Airlines
Istanbul to Denizli on Turkish Airlines
At the Jetstar check-in kiosk, we were told that baggage can only be tagged through to Istanbul, even though the entire journey is on one booking. The luggage tag currently shows Istanbul as the final destination.
I am trying to understand what will happen once the luggage reaches Istanbul. Will she need to collect the bags there and recheck them for the final flight to Denizli, or will Turkish Airlines automatically transfer the luggage to the connecting flight?
We are concerned about the possibility of missing the connection if baggage has to be collected and rechecked manually.
