Just read the heartbreaking news about two American cruise passengers who drowned at Celebration Key, Carnival’s brand-new private destination in the Bahamas. Both incidents happened just hours apart one in a lagoon and the other in a pool. The victims were 74 and 79 years old, and they came from different cruise ships. It’s tragic, especially since this resort only opened in July and is promoted as a safe and relaxing beach getaway.
It makes me wonder how prepared these resorts are for emergencies.
Carnival said lifeguards and medics responded quickly, but I’m curious if more precautions could have made a difference. Have any of you been to Celebration Key yet or experienced similar concerns at cruise-owned resorts? Would love to hear your thoughts on safety at these kinds of destinations.
