You’re not weird for this at all. A lot of people opt out of daily housekeeping, especially on vacation when you just want privacy and don’t need fresh towels every few hours.
Hotels push it as a “just in case” safety and maintenance thing, not because they expect guests to be doing anything sketchy. They want eyes on the room occasionally to catch leaks, damage, or obvious issues early.
If you’re clean and don’t want anyone in your space, just hang the do not disturb and call down if you need towels or trash picked up. Most places are fine with that now, especially post pandemic.
Paying resort rates doesn’t mean you owe them access to your room every day.
