Took a cruise on FDR’s old yacht in Oakland and found out it was tied to Elvis and drug smuggling?

This was one of the most random yet unexpectedly awesome things I’ve done in the Bay Area. The USS Potomac looks like a modest ship from the outside, but the history packed into that yacht is wild presidential command center, Elvis’s gift, and somehow later it got tangled in a smuggling ring. You cruise the Bay while hearing about all this, and the views aren’t bad either. Honestly felt like stepping into a weird little pocket of American history floating out of Jack London Square.

Not your typical cruise, but definitely memorable. Anyone else done this tour or know of other ships like this with wild backstories?
