Planning a birthday trip to Spain this October and trying to figure out if my itinerary is realistic. I’ll arrive Oct 6 and fly back Oct 15, so about 9 days on the ground.
Right now the rough plan looks like this:
Oct 6 – Madrid
Arrive from the U.S., keep it easy, dinner near Plaza Mayor and sleep off the jet lag.
Oct 7–9 – Seville (3 nights)
Oct 7: AVE train Madrid → Seville (2.5h), explore Triana
Oct 8: Alcázar + Seville Cathedral
Oct 9: Day trip to Córdoba for the Mezquita, then back to Seville
Oct 10–11 – Granada (2 nights)
Train Seville → Granada (~3h)
Explore Albaicín and tapas
One full day at the Alhambra
Oct 12–14 – Madrid (3 nights)
Retiro Park, Prado Museum
Royal Palace + Plaza Mayor
Day trip to Toledo on the last full day
Oct 15 – Fly home from Madrid
I’m totally fine moving around a bit, but I’ve never been to Europe before so I’m not sure if this is a comfortable pace or too much hopping around.
Does this seem reasonable, or should I cut something out (maybe Córdoba or Toledo)?
