I’ve gotten two of these fake toll messages in the last month, one pretending to be from TxTag and another from something called “TollsPayNY” which I’ve never even used. They’re just getting sneakier with logos and urgent “pay now” wording. I can see how people fall for it especially if you’ve actually been on a toll road recently.
Rule of thumb: if it comes via text and it wants your card info, delete it. Always go to the official site directly. Also, can we talk about how toll systems are just too fragmented in the U.S.? Makes it way easier for scammers to exploit the confusion.
