Checked into my Marriott last night after a long drive for work. Titanium Elite, confirmed upgrade to a King Suite, app showed all good. Arrived around 2 AM with my wife who’s due any day now.
Front desk says they’re overbooked because of a genealogy convention. No rooms at any nearby Marriotts. Then he says there’s an “overflow space out back.”
That space turned out to be a literal stable. No HVAC, straw on the ground, animals inside. My wife ended up giving birth there. Locals wandered in later saying they “saw a sign.” Now there’s a bright light shining into the room and no blackout curtains.
Marriott really outdid themselves this Christmas.
