Tight Spirit connection at Newark… is this even realistic?

Newark can be fine… or it can be chaos. It really depends on the day.

If this is all on one Spirit booking, technically they think it’s legal. But “legal” and “comfortable” are two different things. EWR isn’t tiny, and if you’re landing even a little late, that buffer disappears fast.

Big questions are:

How long is the layover exactly?

Same terminal or not?

Any checked bags involved?

If it’s under an hour, I’d personally be nervous, especially with Spirit where delays aren’t exactly rare. If it’s 90 minutes plus and same terminal, it’s more reasonable.

Trying to save $100 is understandable, but missing the connection could cost way more in stress and rebooking.
