Just noticed this new United.com booking UI and it’s honestly confusing in a bad way. They’re collapsing the nonrefundable and refundable fares into one line and only showing the “standard” price when you click in.
The problem is Premium Plus pricing is weird. In some cases the refundable Premium Plus fare is actually cheaper than the nonrefundable one. But now that cheaper option is hidden unless you dig for it. On the surface it makes Premium Plus look more expensive than Business, even when it’s not.
If you’re a normal customer just clicking through, you’d probably assume Premium Plus is a bad deal and skip it entirely. Feels like a UI decision that ignores how their own pricing works.
Hopefully this gets fixed, because right now it’s misleading at best.
