This is exactly the kind of situation where the FHR credit actually shines. Weather chaos, stuck overnight, needing real WiFi and late checkout, not just a crash pad by the airport. That flexibility is what makes the benefit worth having.
Getting a Midtown hotel, room service, breakfast, and 4pm checkout for basically nothing is a solid save. Way better than sleeping near the airport and stressing all morning about standby.
Also nice to hear the front desk actually helped you use the $100 credit instead of letting it go to waste. That’s how FHR properties are supposed to handle it.
Perfect example of using the card for quality of life, not just chasing value.
