If you only have time to visit one Hindu temple in the US, make it the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Houston, Texas. I thought I’d seen ornate architecture before, but this place floored me. Over 33,000 hand-carved marble and limestone pieces every inch is stunning. It’s serene, spacious, and somehow feels ancient and modern all at once. Even if you’re not religious, the craftsmanship and peaceful vibe are something else. It’s the kind of place that makes you whisper when you walk in, just out of sheer respect.
Bonus: the exhibit inside gives a solid intro to Hindu beliefs if you're curious. I walked away more centered than I expected and with a hundred photos.
