TripAdvisor data and Google search stats just named Crater Lake in Oregon the most popular hidden gem in the U.S. It’s stunning, no doubt the deepest lake in the country.
Formed 7,700 years ago, surrounded by hikes, fishing, and even skiing. But calling it “hidden” with over 182,000 monthly searches and a 5-star Tripadvisor rating feels like a stretch. That said, it does live up to the hype deepest lake in the U.S., unreal blue water, and set in a collapsed volcano. Hike, fish, ski, or just stare at the thing; it's a solid detour if you're in the Pacific Northwest.
