As someone who’s been riding with Alaska for years, the new Ascent card announcement caught my eye especially with that teased 80K welcome bonus. I’ve already got the current Alaska Visa and have used the companion fare more than once, so I’m debating if I should go for the Ascent next or wait for the premium “Summit” card with the 100K offer.
That said, I’m still trying to figure out what we’re really getting here. Will the new card come with the same companion fare benefit? Is 80K worth the possible changes to perks or annual fees?
I’d love to hear from others are you planning to wait it out, or jumping in early while the current card setup is still active?
