Just came across the latest data on US air routes and it's wild how packed some of these flights are. The Xiamen–LAX route tops the list with a jaw-dropping 96.7% seat load factor, and others like Guangzhou–JFK and Tel Aviv–JFK aren't far behind. Even domestic routes like Southwest's Dallas Love–Boston hit 95%! What’s interesting is that some of these high SLFs are due to reduced frequency, like China flights running just once a week.
I always figured high SLF meant big profits, but it turns out it can also just mean fewer flights or bargain fares. Still, being on a near-full plane has been my norm lately. Have you noticed more full flights too? And do you think airlines will start ramping up capacity soon?
