The travel apps I actually end up using every trip

I used to download every app influencers recommended and never open half of them. These are the ones I actually rely on when traveling.

Google Maps offline. Download the area before you go. Works shockingly well even with zero service. I’ve used it walking and hiking in random parts of Europe without issues.

Maps.me for real hiking. Better trail detail than Google and fully offline. This one has saved me more than once in places with absolutely no signal.

Google Translate camera. Point it at menus or signs and it just works. Download the language ahead of time and it’s super reliable. Conversation mode is hit or miss but the camera feature is gold.

Booking.com app. Better cancellation policies, lots of filters, and the app is way smoother than the website. I almost always start here for hotels.

Wise debit card. Best exchange rates I’ve found and minimal fees. I use it everywhere and barely touch my regular bank card anymore. Just make sure to get the physical card before you leave.

Rome2Rio. Not for booking, just for understanding what routes even exist. Trains, buses, flights, ferries. Really helpful when planning multi city trips.

One bonus if you’re going to Iceland. Guide to Iceland. Real time road conditions, weather alerts, and closures. Honestly feels necessary there, not optional.

Curious what other apps people actually use and don’t just download and forget.
