Been Diamond for about six years now and I won’t pretend the program hasn’t been watered down. Upgrades are harder, lounges are packed, and global and regional upgrades don’t go nearly as far as they used to.
That said, the dedicated Diamond phone line is still elite and probably the biggest reason I stay loyal. Zero wait time and the reps are consistently some of the best customer service people I’ve dealt with in travel. They’ve helped me with seat upgrades, flight changes, refunds, miles, all kinds of stuff that the app or website just can’t seem to handle.
Honestly, the Delta app and website are pretty terrible. Half the time what you see isn’t accurate and things don’t work as intended. The Diamond line cuts straight through all of that.
Curious if other Diamonds feel the same way. Even with everything else slipping, that phone line alone carries a lot of weight for me.
