I’ve always said a MagicBand isn’t technically essential for a Disney trip you can use your phone for park entry, Lightning Lanes, and payments. But after almost losing mine earlier this year, I can tell you it’s worth keeping an eye and maybe a clip on it.
While waiting for a friend outside Jungle Cruise, my MagicBand popped clean off my wrist without me even noticing. A kind stranger pointed it out before I walked away and that’s the only reason I didn’t have to buy a pricey replacement that day. Turns out, it had snagged on a corner when I moved my arm.
If you’ve got kids, or if you tend to talk with your hands like me, it’s worth looking into those little band security loops you can buy online. Losing a MagicBand especially a special edition one can feel like throwing money down the drain.
Lesson learned: in Disney World, the magic is great but keeping your MagicBand on your wrist is even better.
