Thailand's Immigration Bureau has introduced the Thailand Immigration Management System (THIM), a new digital platform that allows international travelers to submit arrival information electronically before entering the country.
The mobile application includes AI-powered passport scanning for one-time registration and is designed to streamline immigration processing, with authorities aiming to reduce border clearance times to under three minutes while maintaining security standards.
According to officials, traveler data will be stored on domestic cloud infrastructure in compliance with Thai regulations. Future updates are expected to add services such as online visa extensions and 90-day reporting requirements.
The initiative is part of Thailand's broader effort to modernize immigration procedures and improve the experience for the millions of international visitors who enter the country each year.
