Thailand ends 60-day visa-free stay

Thailand has updated its visa-free entry rules and is ending the 60-day visa exemption policy that was previously available to many nationalities.

Under the revised framework, most countries will now return to shorter visa-free stays (generally 30 days), along with different rules depending on nationality and bilateral agreements.

Key changes include:

Many countries reverting to 30-day visa-free entry

Some countries eligible for 15-day exemptions

A smaller group still qualifying for visa on arrival

Certain bilateral agreements allowing different stay durations (including 14, 30, and in some cases 90 days)

This effectively rolls back the expanded 60-day policy that had been introduced in 2024.

For digital nomads and long-stay travelers who relied on the extended visa-free period, this may significantly affect short-term stay planning and visa run strategies
