Usually avoid taxis when traveling, but for a visit to Ninfa Garden from Rome it seems unavoidable.
The plan is to take the train from Rome to Latina Scalo, then get a taxi for the ~5 mile trip to Ninfa Garden. Most advice about taxis in Italy seems focused on big cities like Rome or Florence, so not sure how it works in a smaller place like this.
Some blogs mention taxis at the station charging around €50 for a return trip for a 10–12 minute ride, which sounds pretty steep.
Trying to figure out a few things:
Would using an app like FreeNow still work there?
What should a normal fare for ~4–5 miles actually be?
Since there probably won’t be taxis waiting at the garden, is it better to call one later or pre-arrange pickup?
Just want to avoid getting stuck paying way more than necessary.
