Currently BA Silver and will requalify, but looking at chasing OW Emerald via Finnair Plus instead.
I’ve got a D class RTW ticket issued by BA starting in April. Plan is to credit to Finnair Plus, but I’m holding off officially joining for timing reasons around the last long haul segments.
Question for anyone who’s done something similar:
If I join Finnair Plus and add that number to the booking, can I manage the booking in the Finnair app and have all segments credit to Finnair instead of BA? Or is this something BA has to manually update?
Also… if I swap out my BA Silver number for Finnair, do I risk losing the seats I already selected under BA status? That’s my main concern.
If the app can’t handle it cleanly, is calling BA the safest way to change the FF number?
Would appreciate any real world experience before I start tinkering.
