Boarding today with just my backpack and a small carry-on roller, and the gate agent stops me saying I have “three items.” I’m standing there confused until she points at… my neck pillow. The one clipped to my backpack.
I told her it’s a neck pillow, she said “you’re not wearing it, it’s on your bag.” So apparently that makes it luggage now? Ended up just putting it around my neck and she let me through, but the look she gave me was wild.
Is this actually normal with Southwest now? Do we really have to wear the pillow for it not to count?
