Delta Gold here, recently status matched to Southwest A-List since I had a bunch of SW flights coming up.
Honestly surprised by how little it feels like any kind of loyalty tier. Priority check-in lane was empty but agents kept pulling people from the regular line. On another flight I was told to self-tag my bag with zero signage saying that was required.
Bag came in at 50.5 lbs and I was told to take something out. No flexibility, no acknowledgment of status, no thanks for loyalty. I get rules are rules, but the contrast with Delta was pretty noticeable.
Is this just how Southwest handles status, or was this a rough intro?
