Just arrived at Secrets La Romana, staying in a preferred club room, and I’m already baffled. Went out to the preferred club pool at 8am and every single shaded sunbed was “reserved.” Towels everywhere. Actual humans at the pool? Maybe five.
Same story at the other pool too. It feels like if you don’t play the towel game at dawn, you’re out of luck for the whole day.
I don’t get why resorts allow this when most of them technically have rules against it. It creates such a weird, competitive vibe when people are supposed to be relaxing.
Do you just have to join the madness and come out earlier, or is there some unspoken trick here?
