I honestly didn’t think I’d see platform barriers in my lifetime, but here we are. MTA rolling them out to 56 stations is a huge deal. I ride the L and 7 regularly and have seen too many close calls and scary moments especially during crowded rush hours. The barriers just make sense. Of course, it’s NYC so there’s gonna be debate, but I’m on board if it keeps people from accidentally or intentionally ending up on the tracks.
Curious to see how fast they can really hit that 100 stations by end of year goal though.
