My trip from DCA to SFO was booked with the second flight segment on standby. The first leg only had around a one-hour weather delay, but after that several of us ended up stranded in the terminal waiting for the next available flight at 10 a.m.
I checked around, and apparently neither the airline staff nor the on-site Chicago PD office had any extra blankets available. I’ve slept in less comfortable places before, but this situation still feels pretty miserable.
Had I known something like this was possible, I definitely would have brought a lightweight summer blanket with me.
Feels like Spirit may have found a new competitor in the budget-travel struggle category.
