This is just for fun. I’m curious what the strangest thing you’ve seen, experienced, or witnessed on a cruise is.
I’ve seen people get kicked off for fighting, and I’ve also seen passengers miss the ship and run after it as it was already leaving port.
But the strangest encounter I had was a conversation early in the morning on a 10-day cruise with Carnival Cruise Line.
It was sunrise and my family was still asleep, so I was alone watching the morning view when I met a man on deck. He asked why I was up so early, and I told him I’m a morning person and usually just get coffee and enjoy the sunrise while my family sleeps in.
He then told me he was up early to get away from the woman sharing his room. He had met her on a dating app, they hit it off, and on a whim he invited her on a 10-day cruise as a first date, and she agreed.
By day one they realized they were not compatible at all. By around day eight they were actively avoiding each other and completely miserable.
His final advice to me was: “never invite someone on a 10-day cruise for your first date.”
I just kind of filed that under obvious advice learned the hard way.
