My brother’s driving cross-country and lost his wallet for a day. He froze his cards, canceled all his hotel bookings, then fully canceled every card… and of course he found the wallet right after. He’s got his ID now and plenty of cash, just no working card.
Trying to figure out if he can still stay in hotels or if he’s stuck sleeping in his car. I told him to call the chain since he has a rewards account, but not sure if they’ll take cash or maybe a Visa gift card for the hold. He also has an image of his replacement card but that’d need manual entry.
Anybody dealt with this? Any tricks for getting a room without a live credit card?
