After a strong World Series run last fall, I decided to watch a Toronto Blue Jays game in a unique way by booking a stadium-view room at the Toronto Marriott City Centre. This hotel is located inside a major sports stadium, and the rooms offer direct views into the field, making it feel like you are essentially staying inside the stadium.
I initially booked a standard stadium-view room for about 1020 CAD for a Monday night game when bookings opened. Field-view rooms are released once MLB schedules are announced, and availability is often shared on the hotel’s Instagram.
Later, a special “Rawlings Room” was introduced, a one-of-a-kind baseball-themed field-view suite. After some back and forth with the hotel, I managed to upgrade and secure the room for around 1700 CAD.
The room itself was heavily themed with baseball decor, including custom furnishings, memorabilia-style design elements, and even a personalized locker-style nameplate. The stadium view was excellent, and we were able to watch batting practice, grounds crew activity, and the game itself from the room. Binoculars were also provided, and concierge lounge access plus some in-room amenities were included.
There were a few drawbacks. Some design choices felt a bit mismatched, such as oversized player images inside the room. The view had partial obstructions due to the stadium structure, especially in deep outfield areas, and the scoreboard was not fully visible in real time. Certain expected perks like giveaway items were not included, and some advertised elements like a Gold Glove display were missing. Food delivery options were also more limited than expected compared to what was implied.
Despite these issues, overall it was a memorable experience. Watching a game from inside the stadium and waking up to an empty field view was a highlight. While the cost is high and not something I would do frequently, it was worth trying at least once for the experience.
