I’ve done the $500-a-night Kauai stays and yeah, they’re nice but the Tip Top Motel had a totally different kind of charm. For under $200, I got a clean, bug-free room which in Hawaii is already a win, and a dead-simple check-in that made me wish more places ditched the front desk altogether. The old-school vibe made it feel more “real” than the resort bubbles. And don’t even get me started on the cafe those pancakes alone are worth the booking.
Anyone else prefer these no-frills spots when island-hopping?
